On the heels of controversial Seattle Mayor Ed Murray passing his meaningless city employee travel ban to North Carolina, Gov. Inslee has followed suit. Never one to champion what HE thinks are noble causes (regardless of the beliefs of those he governs over), Inslee has also put a ban on non-essential state worker travel to the Tar Heel State.

The ban comes after the North Carolina Assembly passed a state-wide law prohibiting any city or county from passing anti-discrimination laws, specifically those pertaining to transgender individuals being allowed to use whatever restroom or locker room facilities they identify with. This new rule was adopted by the Charlotte City Council, and supporters of the new ban say it was done to protect children and women.

There have already been a number of incidents of lewd behavior committed by men who claimed they were transgender in the Seattle area, and were using women's facilities.  Several health clubs in the King County area adopted a similar policy to the ones passed in virtual secret by the WA State Human Rights Commission, but some were reversed after public outcry.

Several women reported in these clubs they were not comfortable sharing locker or dressing rooms with men, and one of them was arrested for allegedly using this law to peep on women.

Mayor Murray, preaching anti-discrimination rhetoric, banned non-essential city employee travel to North Carolina, and pledges to do the same for other states if they adopt similar measures. Now, Inslee has followed suit.
