Wednesday Gov. Jay Inslee will visit Yakima, and is expected to try to drum up support for a capitol gains tax (among others) to fund an expected $2.3 billion dollar education plan.

Inslee announced in January during his State Of The State speech he hopes to push through one of the biggest education spending plans in state history.  He claims a capitol gains tax will provide a more "fair" taxation environment, and he claims teachers pay three times more taxes than the wealthiest Washington residents.  His education program would also use taxpayer money to provide early learning programs for another 6,300 low-income children.

After touring an early learning center, Inslee will meet for a "brownbag" lunch with a group of what his office calls "low-income workers" to discuss the need to "build an economy that works for everyone."  Exactly what that entails was not specified by his office or press release.

He is also expected to meet with a select group of students at Central Washington University during a stop off in Ellensburg the same day.
