Grant County Sheriffs and other officials investigating vehicles used by a dangerous wanted felon have turned up some shocking news!

The search continues for David Santos, who has eluded authorities since the end of June.  Santos fled from officers after a Royal City policeman responded to a domestic violence call June 30th.  Santos escaped officers in an orchard, and using multiple vehicles, has stayed on the loose.

Authorities are analyzing three vehicles with ties to the man.  A 2000 Dodge Durango was used while Santos fled officers and engaged them in a shootout June 30th. July 4 it was found abandoned in an orchard near Mattawa.

A 2000 Ford Expedition he used to flee from officers July 3 turned up a shocking discovery.  Officers found Santos had a LIVE hand grenade with him during his flight and second shootout with authorities. The grenade was found lying next to the vehicle that Santos crashed into an orchard. The grenade was safety detonated by the Richland Bomb Squad after forensic information was taken from it.

And finally, a stolen 1997 Toyota Tercel that was stolen July 4th. near Royal City. It was later found that same day near Mattawa. In that vehicle, authorities found the muzzle of an assault rifle linked to Santos.

It is not known if he's still in Grant County, and while the search and investigation continues, some officials believe he's long gone, having fled probably headed south to Mexico.  He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
