Guilty Verdict for Finley Man Who Shot Victim’s Car 21 Times

A Franklin County Superior Court jury found 20-year-old DeShawn Anderson guilty of not only murder, but another shocking crime stemming back to 2014.

Monday, the jury found Anderson guilty in the fatal shooting death of Lorenzo "Ritchie" Fernandez Jr December 3, 2014. It was reportedly in retaliation for the fatal shooting of one of Anderson's friends, and reportedly gang related.

This murder followed a November 18, 2014 incident in which Anderson fired more than 20 shots into a parked car where four men were sitting. Three of the men sustained serious injuries, the other was just grazed by a bullet.

Prosecutors said the men shot in the car had wounds consistent with being attacked from behind, defense attorneys said nobody in the car ever concisely said Anderson was the shooter.

The murder was a case of revenge, said prosecutors, because Fernandez was reported part of a gang responsible for the death of Anderson's friend.

The next phase of Anderson's legal proceedings will be June 21st. likely to be sentencing or setting the date for sentencing for the verdicts.
