Regardless of their success on the court, the Oroville High School boys hoops team showed what kind of character they have over the weekend. Oroville has a population of about 1,700 in Okanogan County in North Central WA.

After playing in and winning a 'neutral site' Washington State 2B playoff game, they were in Tri-Cities getting ready to head home.  They came across a Kennewick patrol car that got stuck in a deep snow drift by their hotel.

The team members, without any prompting, raced over and pushed the officer's car out of the berm so he could continue. The team then continued on their way. Just another example of how people help each other in times of need.

By the way, the Oroville Hornets are now 17-4 and moving on to the next round of the WIAA state playoffs, a favorite to do well and possibly win the State 2B title!
