According to West Richland Police, Petey (as he is now being called) was found by a good samaritan, he'd been abandoned in a dirt area off of Ruppert Road a few days ago.

He appears to be about 14 weeks old, believed to be at least part pit bull, maybe a mix. The person found him and brought him to police. Dr. Menks Mobile Vet has been caring for him, as he had a very badly infected blunt force trauma to his left front leg.

However, he is expected to make a full recovery. But donations are needed to help his healing continue. Please call (509)-438-4800 to donate if you would like.

No word if he was chipped, or if any other identification was on him at the time of discovery. Police very much want to talk to his previous owners. The investigation continues.
