Regardless of your position on this issue, your Tri-City School boards do want your opinion on the Obama Administration's decision Friday to send out a non-legally binding 'directive', telling schools they should adopt transgender bathroom policies. While it's not legally binding, not doing so could leave districts open to lawsuits, and potentially federal funding being withheld. Here's how to voice your opinion.

  • Kennewick's next School Board meeting will be Wednesday, May 25th at the Administration Building on 4th Ave, in Kennewick.  Officials say be there at 5:30 pm, as public comments are taken first before official business begins.

Newstalk 870 spoke with Kennewick school officials, and they encourage parents to voice their opinion on this new 'mandate' from the White House.  It's too early to tell what direction this will lead, but the 25-page directive is expected to arrive soon at the Districts.
