Her Tweet has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media, but Hillary Clinton callously used the incident to push for more action on "gun violence." Pictured is a Facebook image of the reported suspect, a former TV station employee.

In the wake of the horrific shooting of a Virginia TV reporter and her cameraman early Wednesday morning, Clinton, according to Buzzfeed.com, tweeted this message:

"Heartbroken and angry. We must act to stop gun violence, and we cannot wait any longer. Praying for the victims' families in Virginia. -H"

WDBJ-TV reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were gunned down by an assailant early this morning, as Parker was doing an interview in Moneta, Virginia at the Bridgewater Plaza.

According to the station, WDBJ, a former "disgruntled" employee is a suspect in the shooting. Citing Virginia State Patrol sources, officials say 41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan is the suspect.  He reportedly formerly worked for the station under the on-air name of Bryce Williams.

Virginia State Patrol sources say he shot himself along a Virginia freeway after being confronted by authorities.

The shooting is shocking because the gunman recorded the incident on a camera phone. According to Fox News:

" In the video, a cell phone camera angle shows the shooter walking up to the reporter, interviewee and camera man and pointing a gun at them. The trio does not see the shooter approach or the pistol pointing at them. Several shots are then fired, first at reporter Alison Parker, who screams and runs as the video ends.

A longer video posted to Facebook doesn't show much after Parker runs in terror. The sound of 14 gunshots can be heard. Nine shots ring out before a pause and the final shots are fired. The Facebook account has also been suspended."

Parker was interviewing a woman for a story about increasing tourism in that area of Virginia. According to Fox News, the woman being talked to was shot and hurt, but is in the hospital in stable condition.

The station has also reported authorities chased Flanagan in his car, he crashed and then reportedly shot himself. He was fired from the station about two years ago. He had reportedly filed a complaint or report with the United States Equal Opportunity Commission after he was fired.

The shooting occurred at 6:45am Eastern Time.  According to Fox News, about the suspect:

"Alison made racist comments," one tweet from Williams' now-suspended account read. "Adam went to hr on me after working with me one time!!!" said another. Both tweets were posted hours after the murders had occurred."

Other reports are saying the shooter is still at large.  Keep listening to Newstalk 870 and Fox News for additional details.
