Hit-And-Run Accident Kills Hermiston Pedestrian

Hermiston police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking in the 400 block of Highway 207 early Friday morning.

The accident occurred just before 6:40am in an area of SW 11th Street, which is also considered part of the highway area.

A portion of that road between Orchard and Highland Ave are closed off by police as part of the investigation. The road was slated to re-open around 10am.

Police say the victim has not yet been identified but was NOT a student on their way to school. No word was given if any leads on the vehicle that struck and killed the person, but police said it was clearly a hit-and-run.
