Kennewick police are looking for the driver of a red truck that was involved in a hit & run accident off Canal & Edison that put one motorcyclist in the hospital.

The truck is described as a red Ford Ranger or Mazda small pickup truck with damage on the front drivers side.

The motorcyclist was driving north on Edison when the red truck turned into them while trying to turn left onto Eastbound Canal. The truck struck the motorcycle and stopped right after but then sped off leaving the injured motorcyclist behind.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw a group of people around the motorcyclist that had an "obvious leg injury", according to reports.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Trios and treated for his injuries.

Officers responded to an accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Canal and Edison. Officers arrived and observed several citizens standing around the motorcycle rider who had suffered an obvious leg injury. The motorcycle had been traveling north through the intersection when a small red Ford Ranger or Mazda p/u struck the motorcycle while making a left turn from Edison onto eastbound Canal Drive. The driver of the red truck stopped momentarily after striking the motorcycle, but then sped away from the scene. The truck should have damage to the front driver's side area. The motorcycle rider was transported to Trios for treatment. This incident continues to be under investigation.
