With all the tragic and crazy events happening in public places the Department of Homeland Security has distributed great ideas for how to react!

A recent training video released by Homeland Security less than a month after the Sandy Hook shooting offers tips. Besides advising people to barricade themselves in rooms using heavy furniture, or hiding under a desk, the speaker also tells people hiding to silence pagers or cellphones because vibrations could give them away. In addition to these tips, the video instructs viewers to fight back. And the weapon of choice suggested?

Scissors.

Homeland Security officials said the information in the video was "adequate" -- whatever that means! Security consultant Andrew Scott watched the video and said attacking the gunman should be a last resort. He also advised, when the police arrive drop the scissors!
