We know what we're shelling out when we fill up at the pump.  But how does it compare this week with the rest of the country? And WA State?

We're being clubbed as badly as the state average, but we are above the national average.  Mid Columbia average is about $4.04 per gallon (for regular unleaded), compared with $4.12 state average.  But the national average is about 19 cents LOWER than what we pay.   And source of consternation to Mid Columbians--why is Spokane consistently cheaper?  Their city average is $3.87.

Various sources claim is because of extra barging and transportation costs to get our fuel to us.  Searches of various news sources shows apparently it is a topic  that has not been explored much at all.  We will attempt to pin down why our fuel prices are considerably higher.
