Fortunately no motorists were injured, but some vehicles damaged after huge slide.

Wednesday evening around 7:30 pm, a huge landslide of earth and boulders tumbled down the hillside onto Interstate 84 a mile west of Hood River, Oregon, blocking the Eastbound lanes, and partially blocking the West bound travel as well.

54-year-old Daniel Koopman of  Summerville, OR, was eastbound when his car was swept aside by the blast of debris.  While his car was totaled, Koopman was not injured.  However,  the road remains blocked and clogged while Oregon Department of Transportation and other crews work to move the rocks and debris.  Some of the boulders were nearly half the size of Koopman's car.
