Over 35 firefighters from the City of Pasco, Kennewick and Franklin County spent the overnight hours battling a large structure fire that was first reported as a grass fire near Griggs Department Store in Pasco.

Officials said the CWallA business building was completely destroyed and "100%" consumed by the fire, when crews arrived around 11pm.  Due to locked gates, and the size of the fire, it was battled only from the outside.

The building is on land south and east of Griggs, an area called the Pasco Griggs Shopping Center.

The fire has since been knocked down, and now authorities will try to figure out what caused it. Some reports indicate it was possibly arson. Photo shows location of the fire in relation to Griggs Department Store. Griggs is in lower left, CWallA in middle upper, long white building.
