The sad discovery of a woman found in the area of the Benton County Fairgrounds is NOT the result of foul play, but cold, bitter winter weather. (Fairgrounds seen during fair season).

Benton County Coroner John Hansens says an autopsy performed on the body of the woman found Sunday around 9am confirmed her identity and cause of death.

Hansens says she is 59-year-old Pamela Kenny, of Kennewick. She had been reported missing earlier in December.  Hypothermia was believed to be what killed her. Toxicology tests have been done, results still pending.

Hansens says she was there anywhere from 3-10 days, but environmental conditions made it virtually impossible to determine exact time or date of death.

No other information was released, the investigation continues.
