If you were suspicious about where all the support, and money, for Initiative 594 is coming from,  you are probably right.  The noted YouTube page Laughing at Liberals captured some very interesting information about the people helping push I-594.

Initiative 594, which is on the Washington ballot,  claims it will "close" the loopholes that allow guns to allegedly wind up in the hands of criminals and other dangerous people.

It's a confusing, complicated system that would require back round checks and registering any and all gun sales - even private or between family members - as well as applying confusing laws to gun ranges and hunting.

Supporters are spinning it as a way to close these "loopholes" that supposedly allow people to obtain guns without being screened.    But according to authorities we've spoken with in the Mid-Columbia,  most criminals have obtained guns from the Black Market,  other criminals, or stole the firearms themselves.    They say no amount of legislation or back round checks can stop criminals from obtaining them.

Laughing at Liberals, as far back as a year ago, captured people on camera in Vancouver, WA peddling petitions to get I-594 on the ballot.  In the video, the peddlers admit they're from out of state, and working for groups even bigger than the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR) who's pushing this plan.

Recently,  the supporters of I-594 have aired a controversial ad claiming their legislation would have prevented  Tri-Citian Monique Williams from getting fatally shot.  They claim the bill would have closed internet loopholes, and kept her killer, Aaron Newport, from illegally obtaining a gun.  We have not been able to find out if her relatives or family approved the use of her story in the ad.   There's simply been little or no media coverage of this controversial campaign ad.
