First ‘Run From the Cops’ Charity Fun Run Was Huge Success
Saturday, July 14, the inaugural Run From the Cops 5k Charity Fun Run kicked off at straight up midnight at Gold’s Gym in Kennewick. 310 runners and 1 newlywed couple showed up to raise money for the Special Olympics of Washington — a charity event tied into the Law Enforcement Torch Run event to raise money for Special Olympics locally.
Kennewick Police Sergeant Randy Maynard was behind this unique event and also organizes the annual Polar Plunge. He and his other volunteers put together a great event and most of them competed as well. Check out the great photos below taken by Randy’s wife and mark your calendar for next year so you can take part in the 2nd annual event.
