Lake.

Moses, Lake.

A very James Bond-ian thing is happening with the Moses Lake Police Department.

They are testing new ways to catch high speed drivers but not endanger the public with crazy speeds down roads often in very populated neighborhoods.

Meet Mr. GPS Launcher.

Moses Lake City Council approved police cars being equipped to spew GPS devices to attach and hitch a ride on cars using high speeds to try and get away.

An officer uses a laser to guide the tracking device to fleeing rides then backs off and tracks the suspect from a distance. Once the device is locked and loaded and transmitting, the police just radio ahead, way ahead of the unsuspecting perpetrator who thinks he's beaten the rap....until spike strips kill that euphoria in a big hurry.

Moses Lake accepted a grant from Washington Cities Insurance Authority in the amount of $7100.00 to purchase the technology.
