For the second time in less than a month, a Kennewick motorist decided going straight through a roundabout was the best choice.

Kennewick police reported Bidala Elizai, age not given, was driving around 4:30am Sunday, when he failed to negotiate the roundabout at Kennewick Ave. and Union Streets.

He apparently drove straight through, then took out a light pole, before his car finally came to a rest in the parking lot of HAPO Credit Union.

Witnesses said he tried to flee the scene, but his car was so badly damaged he was actually trapped inside. He was cited for DUI and driving in violation of an interlock device.
