Critics are already panning the upcoming latest installment in Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park series, asking if CG (computer graphics) have gone too far.

Jake Coyle, a respected film critic and write for the Associate Press, wrote this week that 20 plus years ago, Jurassic Park set the standard for exciting, thrilling films that used the growing computer technology to create a memorable experience.

But now, he says, that element is missing from the latest in the franchise. He says World lacks the wonderment, wit and suspense that marked the original blockbuster.  In that film, the CG was used in just the right way, to enhance the excitement and moments of terror one would feel being chased by a host of prehistoric predators.

Much the world depicted in the movie, Coyle says the movie is overcome with too much computer generated images.  In this latest movie,  it's not just enough to bring back dinosaurs from extinction - the current park director wants them with more teeth.

Coyle says the CG effects in the movie run amok more than the creatures themselves. So, decide for yourself if you decide to take in what will possibly be (if crowds flock to it) the biggest hit of the summer, or one of the biggest duds of Spielberg's career.
