U.S Marshalls, Kennewick and Yakima police apprehended two suspects who held a gun to a woman in the Winco Foods Parking lot Tuesday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Ken Lattin of the Kennewick Police Department, the female victim from Pasco was answering a Craig's List ad for a potential buyer for her i-Phone.  She agreed to met them in the parking lot of the grocery store on Clearwater Ave.

Around 4pm Tuesday, the woman approached the suspect vehicle, and the driver, 19-year-old Asante M. Garcia, told the woman to get in the back seat of the car.  She refused, and tried to speak to another man in the front seat, later identified as 19-year-old Najea A.D. Harris.  He too ordered her to get in the back seat, but she refused. At that point Najea pointed a black handgun at the woman and said if she didn't comply he would shoot her.  She began to walk away, fearful she would be shot.

However the suspects left the scene, and the woman called police.  Here's where 'crime makes you stupid' comes in.  The woman gave police the phone numbers she used to contact the would-be Craig's list-turned-assault suspects, and they were able to identify Najea, as well as Garcia, along with their addresses and personal information from the numbers.

Thursday, the two suspects were apprehended at their residences in Yakima, the gun turned out to be a black BB gun.  The two are facing a variety of charges including attempted robbery, attempted kidnapping and other felonies.  Kennewick police worked with Yakima authorities and the U.S. Marshall's service to apprehend the two suspects.
