Kennewick Irrigation District Gets Results of State Audit

Annually,  the district has the books pored over by the state.

Tuesday, KID officials released results of the annual audit by the Washington State Auditor's office, and KID received a "clean" report.

No findings or recommendations were issued by the Auditor's office, meaning KID's books are in good order, and financial matters are being properly taken care of.

According to the district:

"The annual audit reviews KID financial statements and also performs an Accountability Audit designed to test compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and requirements and looks at the District’s internal controls to ensure that there is adequate safeguarding of public resources."

The KID currently serves water for about 20,200 acres within it's 55,000 acre boundaries.
