Last Sunday, Kennewick authorities responded to a shooting at 5608 West 10th Ave.  They found 52-year-old Jeffrey Allen Shaw dead at the scene around 3:30am.

Wednesday, Benton County Coroner reported an autopsy performed Dr. Daniel Selove, a forensic pathologist from Seattle, revealed the cause of death as a "self-inflicted" gunshot to the chest.

However, according to our news partner KNDU-TV,  Sgt. Ken Lattin of the KPD said it cannot be called suicide, because that would imply it was intentional.

Nothing recovered evidence-wise at the scene, or from talking to witnesses who were outside the home at the time of the event led police to believe it was suicide.    Lattin said classifying it as "self-inflicted" still leaves it wide open.

He said "we may never know" when it comes to determining if it was intentional.  The investigation continues.
