Sadly, the 26-year-old woman hit by a wayward driver Saturday died early Monday morning.

Our news partner KNDU-TV reports Raquel Middleton died very early Monday morning at Kadlec Regional Medical Center.   She had been found unconscious lying in the road near Columbia Center Blvd and N. Center Parkway after a car crashed into her and  another person at the roundabout.

30-year-old Ty Cornwall received a cut on this arm.

According to previous reports,  an unidentified 16-year-old girl was behind the wheel of a black sedan, which had been seen weaving in and out of traffic on Gage Blvd. prior to the crash, and she was traveling at a very high rate of speed.  She was seen crossing all the lanes of Gage prior to the wreck.

The girl’s car jumped the curb going the wrong way on Gage at Louisiana Street. She then hit Middleton and Cornwall, then slammed into one of the large rock columns in the roundabout, setting off the airbag.  The accident occurred around 5pm Saturday.

The teen driver was sent to Trios Health Care Center (Formerly KGH) with injuries, but no updates on her condition have been released.  No updates are available upon request because she is a minor.

The case has been referred to the Benton County Prosecutors office for review to see if charges will be filed.
