Kennewick Police Arrest Suspect in Internet Sex Scheme
A former New Jersey man is behind bars for having sexual relations with a minor.
Kennewick police say 23-year-old Joshua Higgins is facing various child rape and pornography charges after police uncovered a relationship he had with a 13-year-old girl.
Higgins, who formerly lived in New Jersey, met the girl online and allegedly exchanged sexually explicit pictures. Higgins moved to Kennewick and police say he had contact with the female victim on several occasions.
He was arrested Thursday by Kennewick police. They did not say directly if the contact between Higgins and the girl involved sexual activity.
The investigation continues. The illegal activity happened, according to police, between October of last year and June of 2013.
