And they appear to have picked a doozy for their first installment, at least based upon the suspect's choices in hair styles.

Kennewick police have now launched a new feature designed to help the public help them find wanted suspects. It's called Wanted Wednesday, and each week they will feature a person they'd like to apprehend.

It will be featured on their Facebook page. This week they're searching for 36-year-old Melissa Marie Smith. She's last known to have lived in Kennewick, believed to still be here. She's wanted on charges of escape from community custody on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary. Escape from community custody means violations of parole and other sentencing requirements...getting 'into the wind.'

Anyone with any details or information (and a comb) is asked to call (509)-628-0333. All leads are confidential. Wanted Wednesdays will also assist the Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers program, by putting more offenders in front of the public for tips and information.
