Tuesday night, a man in a wheelchair was killed by an apparent hit-and-run driver.

Sgt. Ken Lattin reported authorities are looking for a possibly dark,
"boxy-style sedan," described as an older vehicle. It was reportedly seen in the vicinity after the man was struck around or just before 9pm.

He was crossing Washington Street near 8th Ave. when he was struck by a Southbound vehicle. The man, who's name was not released yet by authorities, was pronounced dead at TRIOS Emergency Room in Kennewick. He is said to be in his early 30's.

Although eye witness accounts described the potential suspect vehicle, Lattin said at this point they don't believe they have an actual witness who saw the collision. Police are looking at any and all area video surveillance camera footage to see if the accident was captured.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Kennewick Police Department or even Tri-City Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS. If desired, any and all information is confidential.
