A 33-year-old man is in the Benton County jail on rape and kidnapping charges after he also allegedly tried to kidnap the victim's child.

Around 2:53 am Wednesday, the 33-year-old female victim agreed to meet the suspect, Raymond R. Cuellar Jr. of Kennewick, at a location down the street from the home where she lives with her parents in Pasco because he threatened to come to the home.

The suspect allegedly took the victim's five-year-old child who had accompanied her and placed the boy in his car, refusing to release him unless the victim got in the car with Cuellar. He then drove her to his house at 704 S. Hawthorne Street where the alleged rape took place.

Police said there was a prior "No Contact" order in place between Cuellar and the victim. After she returned to her parents following the assault she was treated at Lourdes Medical Center and her parents called police.

Cuellar was located and apprehended at his home and is in the Benton County jail on a 72-hour hold for rape, assault and kidnapping, plus a felony violation of a court order.
