A lot is happening in the Kennewick School District this spring and summer. On the heels of the completion of a brand new Westgate Elementary on 4th, progress is racing along with the new Amon Creek Elementary, and Fuerza Elementary Schools.

Amon Creek is located just north and west of the intersection of Clearwater and Steptoe, and will be opening with a ribbon cutting this August 24th. This is the school being built that has created significant boundary changes in the District, affecting boundaries for Vista, Edison, Sunset View and Hawthorne.

Also, the old Desert Hills Middle School is being renovated into Fuerza Elementary, just off of 10th Ave. This will be the District's first dual-language elementary. The new school is being built on the existing site of the old Desert Hills, and it's ribbon cutting open is slated for August 23rd. The old middle school was leveled, and Fuerza built in it's place.
