Next Thursday, August 13, the Kennewick Irrigation District plans a townhall-open house to gather feedback from it's customers, and to inform users what's ahead as we move through one of the worst droughts in recent history.

The meeting will be held at 6:30pm at the Kennewick Red Lion Hotel, on Columbia Center Boulevard.

According to information released by the District, the meeting will be held:

"for purposes of sharing information on the drought and gathering input from its customers on elements of the District’s Drought Policy and Response."

KID has fared better than some districts, especially the Kittitas Reclamation District near Ellensburg in Kittitas County.  By this weekend, they will be ceasing all water deliveries due to severe shortages, and will be shutting down their system nearly two months early.
