It's Boat Race Week in Tri-Cities! It's a special time when it really feels like summer with the roar of the boats on the river, the Over The River Airshow, vintage hydros, and more!

Columbia Cup 2012 promises to be another exciting event, with numerous activities for the whole family.     Some of the family activities that we encourage you to check out include:

*The Oh-Boy! Oberto Radio-Controlled Hydros. Racing at various times throughout the weekend, these incredible models look exactly like their boy-big counterparts, and race at speeds up to 60 mph! Find them on the Family Fishing Pond on the East End of the Park.

*Windermere Group One Kids Zone. Open Saturday and Sunday during the boat races, this gives the little ones a fun and safe area to play on inflatables plus kids activities, too. And it's Free! Bring the kids this weekend. Located near the Centennial Stage in the east end of the park.

*Metz Marine Driver Autograph Sessions, and the Oh-Boy! Oberto Pit Tours. These give everyone a chance to get autographs of their favorite drivers, and during the pit tours see these incredible boats up close.   Remember to get your booster button for the pit tours.

*The HAPO "Over The River" Airshow. One of the most popular features of the hydroplane races is a mix of stunt, vintage, and modern airplanes and helicopters that will have everyone looking to the skies for breathtaking performances.

*The Yakama Legends Casino Vintage Thunderboats. Certainly one of the most nostalgic and favorite parts of the Columbia Cup is when the Seattle Boat Race Museum brings over as many as six of these fully-restored vintage thunderboats. Everyone on the shore jumps up when these famous hydros growl to life and roar up and down the course. It's one of our personal favorites at Newstalk 870.

And of course, you need to know when and where everything is happening. For a complete list of all the Water Follies Activities and more information, click here! Let's go racin'!
