The 26th and final participant in the six-week-long standoff that occurred at the Oregon Malheur National Wildlife refuge has gotten 'into the wind,' and his family isn't talking. The story grabbed national headlines, as a stand-off between citizens and the government near Burns, Oregon.

Jake Ryan of Montana is wanted by authorities on charges he allegedly used heavy equipment to dig into a Native American archaeology site, as part of setting up the group's position during the standoff.

Ryan and another man are facing charges, but his family either doesn't know where he is, according to his mother, or aren't talking. Occupation supporters are besieging the county sheriff near Helena, Montana, asking him to protect Ryan and his family, and prevent any arrest if he shows up.

Sheriff Tom Rummel said outside parties should steer clear while negotiations are under way to possibly bring about a peaceful resolution for Ryan's arrest. However, officials have not said if they have any leads as to where he is, and his mother has repeatedly told authorities she has no idea of his whereabouts.

The standoff occurred stemming from a long-standing feud between federal officials and Oregon landowners and farmers who's land was repeatedly encroached upon and parcels taken away by the government. It also stemmed from disagreements over grazing rights and other property ownership issues.
