The incident took place last December, but a 46-year-old Kennewick man is behind bars on rape and drug charges.

According to Kennewick police, in December, 2014 Edward Gene Richardson gave two females a ride to his home in the 1400 block of West 15th Ave.  He then smoked meth with them. The two juvenile girls independently confirmed the drug use.

One of them, who turned out to be 14-years old, told authorities she awoke to find Richardson having sexual contact with her.

Months later, on July 15th of this year, police served a search warrant on Richardson's home and arrested him on Second Degree Rape, Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor.  He was taken into custody on the charges.

Authorities got a two-for-one when serving the warrant, as they also found a wanted person in the home. Wilson Blake Thomas, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Department of Corrections was arrested as well. He was facing a charge of Escape from Community Custody.
