An in-home caregiver was recently sentenced in Grant County, Washington, for stealing pain medications from a client. They caught her by counting the pills!

The client, a woman in Coulee City, Washington, began getting suspicious when her Hydrocodone medication would run out too fast. After consulting with her son, the woman started counting the pills every day before and after the Soap Lake caregiver arrived!

After documenting missing pills four or five times they contacted police.

The caregiver was only taking a few at a time. She told police it was for her own tooth pain. There is no evidence she tried to sell them and had no prior criminal history.
