Local City Fires Only Police Officer, Reason Kept Secret

The town of Pilot Rock just fired the only police officer and now have no police force. Reports say there is an officer on loan from Pendelton that is filling in until a replacement is finished being trained. Gary Thompson, the officer had only been the Pilot Rock officer for less then a year but was voted out 4-0 by the City Council. They did not however give the reason for his firing which I think is strange.

Thompson says he was fired for buying a proper fitting ballistic vest witch he didn't have the authority to order.
