Was it or wasn't it?  That's what officials are trying to determine.

14-year-old Phoenix High School student Elizabeth Ramero is apparently in Jalisco, Mexico, but authorities say they are satisfied she is ok.    FBI agents were able to help Kennewick police determine a phone call to Ramero's mother was legitimate, and she is working to get the girl reunited with relatives in that city.

December 4th. her mother reported her missing after she got into a dark forest green Ford Escape SUV driven by 19-year-old Edwardo Flores Rosales of Hood River, OR.  She had been leaving for lunch from Phoenix High School in Tri-Cities.   When she didn't return and was still gone the next day, her mother called police.  The FBI got involved because the crime involved crossing state lines.   Rosales is still wanted on a kidnapping charge, and officials believe he is also in Mexico.   Police say there could be an accomplice who helped him.

They say Rosales might also have access to other vehicles, that he may be using.   FBI and police declined to say if Ramero willingly crossed the border with Rosales.   They had met on Facebook, and Rosales reportedly told his family he was leaving Hood River for a job in the Tri-Cities around Thanksgiving.   Officials believe he had been "grooming" Ramero for just such a kidnapping.
