A semi-truck and at least three other vehicles were involved in a major accident. The road is now open in both directions.

Our media news partner KNDU-TV obtained some photographs of what the Washington State Patrol is calling a significant multi-car accident 12 miles north of Pasco. Traffic this afternoon was backed up about two miles.

Troopers said one person was airlifted from the scene. Southbound traffic was closed at Milepost 35. Northbound traffic is also backed up at least two miles. The crash appears to have have been relationed to a small brush fire.
