Oregon officials are still trying to find out what killed a 28-year-old Portland man, who fled the scene of an early morning accident, but was then believed to have been hit by ANOTHER vehicle.

Around 3:06am November 9th (Wednesday) Oregon State Troopers were called by the driver of a commercial truck, who told them he'd been in a minor accident with a gold Ford Ranger pickup near the Exit 159 Eastbound offramp on I-82 in Morrow County.

Upon arrival the troopers were given a description of the male driver, who apparently bailed out of his truck and fled the scene on foot.

After a search, troopers found the man had scaled a chain link fence on the Tower Road overpass and jumped, but was then hit by another car. He was found dead about 130 feet from the original wreck.

Officers believe the second vehicle might have been a dark metallic gray car. Anyone who might have been in the area or would have any information is asked to call (541)-276-2121.  The investigation continues. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
