Man Given 15 Years for Assault on ex-Girlfriend

A 22-year-old man will spend 15 years in the State Pen in Walla Walla following his conviction for a savage attack on his ex-girlfriend in Prosser.

Christian Ramirez plead guilty earlier in June for the September 17th, 2014 assault that left Alondra G. Herrera with wounds on her chest, back, face, abdomen and hands.  Ramirez traveled from California prior to the assault, then on Sept. 17th hid in the back seat of her truck. He assaulted her as she prepared to leave for work in the morning.

She was left in the driveway, but was able to flag down a passing car and call 911.  She underwent extensive surgery for the wounds, and told the judge she still gets scared and paranoid whenever she gets in a vehicle.

In court she told the judge she has forgiven Ramirez and does not see him as a monster.
