Around 6 a.m. Thursday, Benton County Sheriffs responded to reports of a shooting in the Kennewick-Finley area.

Authorities continue to search near 7th and Yew Streets in the Finley area,  trying to find four people possibly involved in what is now described as an attempted burglary.

No one was injured, but deputies now say the people allegedly tried to steal some marijuana from a homeowner's residence,  he caught them.  Shots were fired by the homeowner which apparently scared off the perpetrators.

K9 units were also being used to search from 10th and Havana to 7th streets.   No suspects have been caught as of yet.

The marijuana grower said he caught the suspects on his land, and fired only warning shots to scare them off.   Apparently, it worked.  The investigation continues.
