Football season may be underway, but the hardest hit you'll see this weekend may very well be on the diamond.

In this video, Brian Jeroloman, a catcher with the Double-A Harrisburg Senators, gets absolutely drilled at home plate by Brandon Douglas, of the Erie Seawolves, during a playoff game that took place Wednesday night.

This is one of those hits that probably felts worse than it looks -- and it looks plenty painful.

Jeroloman had to go to the hospital and was placed on the disabled list. Douglas was safe, by the way, and Harrisburg won the game, 5-4.

The hit is reminiscent of Pete Rose when he bowled over Ray Fosse in the 1970 All-Star Game. Check it out below and decide for yourself which collision is more painful:
