Fresh off a season that saw him teamed up with Justin Feser for big efforts on and off the ice, Mitch Topping will wear the "C" on his jersey next season.

Coming off a career-best season in scoring, Topping also received praise for his efforts promoting the Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser: "Making It a TOP Priority to FES (Phase) Out MD."

From the Americans news release:

Topping becomes the first defenseman to be named captain of the Americans since Jarrett Toll (2009-10) and just the third over the last 14 seasons, joining T.J. Fast (2007-08).

Topping and Feser during the 2012-13 season donated to the fundraiser from their own pockets for each Americans home victory, and were matched by the Americans and other donors to raise money.

General Manager Bob Tory:

Mitch sets the tone in the dressing room with his positive attitude and respect for all our players and organization."

The Americans invite you to see Topping back in action this September. For 2013-14 season ticket information call the Americans office at 509-736-0606 or visit online at amshockey.com
