NBA Players Monday rejected the owners latest proposal, and began to de-certify their union, putting the rest of the season in extreme jeopardy.

Players union representatives said they were prepared to file anti-trust action against the owners,  and claim they recognize this could cancel the rest of the season.  However, from several surveys recently published here at newstalk870.am  apparently the rest of the country isn't that concerned.  The NFL is having it's usual great season,  the NHL is cooking, and for the first time since the Chase format was implemented, NASCAR's championship has come down to two drivers this next sunday--and one of them is NOT Jimmy Johnson.  Tony Stewart trails Carl Edwards by 3 points, and the race in Miami will decide it, winner take all.  According to the last survey we published here, nearly 79% of Americans don't miss the NBA; and cancelling the season will set the league back even farther.
