Need a Fake ID? Go to the WA Dept. of Licensing – The CIA Does!

In a story that left state officials a little red-faced, it was reported this week the Washington State Department of Licensing has been cranking out fake ID's without anyone's knowledge, or approval.

An investigation by Oregon Public Broadcasting published this week has revealed the Washington State Department of Licensing has issued hundreds of fake ID's for CIA Agents, and has been doing so since 2007.  

Over 300 of the false identification cards have been issued without the knowledge or permission of Washington state lawmakers. A new bill sponsored by Senate Transportation Co-Chair Tracy Eide would lay down some criteria for issuing the cards.

It would specify the licenses are only for local, state and federal authorities engaged in covert law enforcement.

Some officials in Olympia say the bill may only be a formality, but the lawmakers in Olympia are not fond of state agencies engaging in "covert" behavior without them knowing it.
