Due to the extreme drought and fire danger East of the Cascades, more fire restrictions are now in effect.

Previously, the Bureau of Land Management had been allowing campfires and certain fires in some recreational areas, as well as camping areas.

But as of Saturday July 11, new restrictions have been added to areas overseen by the Bureau.

Now, no burning of any kind is allowed, even in developed camping areas. This includes campfires and charcoal briquettes as well.  The only cooking option now is a gas camping stove, and campers are asked to talk with local officials on-site at these recreation areas to make sure they fully understand the restrictions.

These restrictions will be in place til further notice.
