When John Arnold, a veteran who lives in Priest Lake Idaho, suffered a stroke a while back, he received a letter from the Veterans Administration saying he was found mentally incompetent to keep his gun collection! It's part of the controversial Brady Act, which reportedly flags federal officials if a person is found to be "incompetent" to own a firearm.

Arnold received the letter, saying his stroke had left him unable to meet the criteria for owning firearms. It's part of the NCIS, the National Criminal Instant Backround Check System. It's part of the Brady Act, which was inspired by former White House Press Secretary James Brady who was shot in the head in the 1981 assassination attempt on Former President Reagan.  Brady, who was confined to a wheelchair, and his family, continued until his death to pursue countless (and controversial) gun control laws.

The NCIS apparently flagged Arnold because a mental health provider felt that due to his stroke, he was mentally incompetent to keep his firearms collection, despite only having a moderate physical disability.

Well, the feds might have bitten off more than they can chew. A group of citizens have surrounded Arnold's home, vowing to prevent any attempt at confiscation. AND, the Bonner County Sheriff, Daryl Wheeler, has said his Deputies will also "prevent" any such federal confiscation.

This apparently has gotten the "attention" of the VA, as of Thursday they announced they will NOT be conducting a planned inspection of Arnold's home.  2nd Amendment and citizens rights 1,  feds 0.
