Friday President Obama said at a press conference that 80% of Americans "are sold" on higher taxes as part of a plan to deal with the nation's debt, in addition to raising the debt ceiling.

Repeating eerily similar talking points to those he pushed when he said the nation would collapse without his stimulus plan, Obama claimed we are headed for financial Armageddon.  He went on to claim the American people are behind this idea, but it's the fault of Congress, namely the GOP, for not signing on.  If this tune sounds familiar, consider the similar (if worded somewhat differently) warning he sounded during the debate of whether to pass the now unsuccessful stimulus plan.  Wonder what the next warning will be if he gets his way and his plan doesn't work...?   You can only cry "wolf" so many times, say critics.
