Obama Most Polarizing President–Ever

According to data in the Washington Post, Obama has become the most polarizing president in the history of the United States.
Although at the very end of George Bush’s term as President he had nearly a 70% spread between approval and disapproval between Republicans and Democrats, his huge split in opinion did not last as long as Obama’s. Currently, there is a 68% gap between the GOP and Democrats for Obama’s approval rating. That is the highest split ever for a third year president. The Post suggests it also indicates the nation is becoming more split along party lines in general; also, the GOP and conservatives have resisted virtually every Obama program and plan, while liberals generally approve of his performance.
One thing is for sure however, Obama ran in 2008 on a platform of Hope And Change, and uniting the country. That has not happened, and Obama recently achieved the lowest approval ratings of any president since Carter. He even briefly took those numbers below Carter, making him the least approved President in modern history.
