The department has not released much information, an internal investigation has begun.

According to sources, 36-year-old Corey Linscott was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting his 18-year-old stepson.

No injuries were reported. Quincy police confirmed the boy called authorities, and said a verbal argument led up to the physical confrontation. The situation has been described as "complicated" by officials, and they declined comment until more of the investigation is completed.

The incident began shortly after noon Sunday, when a disturbance was responded to on H Street in Northeast Quincy. Police initially believed someone was barricaded inside the home because nobody answered the door.  Police then called in the Moses Lake Regional Tactical team, who were later sent home when no threats were found.

Quincy Police said the stepson and his mother were trying to leave, Linscott left the home before officers arrived. He returned two hours later and was arrested on fourth-degree domestic violence charges.

Officials did not say if Linscott is still on duty after the arrest.
