Two officers involved with a fatal shooting over the weekend that stemmed from a domestic violence incident at on paid administrative leave, as an investigation has been launched.

Officials say the Yakima County Sheriff's Department and Yakima Police are leading the investigation, and some say it's standard procedure due to the fatality.

A 38-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday night after a 911 call came in about a domestic violence situation. Mario Martinez Torrez was fatally shot by one officer, and reportedly died from multiple gunshot wounds. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday, said officials.

One officer was injured in the incident, and was taken to a local hospital. No other details have been released.
